About the project

Being a huge music and art fan, I’ve always wanted to create something for a festival, some artist or a band. Thanks to Creative Dock I got the opportunity to work on a project called Liiiv.

Liiiv is like a tinder but not for meeting people, it’s for discovering new places, artists or events that are currently taking place around you.

The idea was to show the app in short time slot and catch the attention of the audience. Here I got a little help because already created guidelines, that liiiv has, are great for younger generation, GEN Z. Bright yellow accompanied with other pastel and rich colors helped to be seen - which was one of the most important goals of this project.

Video starts with typewriting animation that works as a hook for the whole video, following 3D animation of a Liiiv logo with lifestyle images behind it. Then the key factor was to showcase the app and the functionality of the swiping. I used the 3D mockup here with the real app showcase. I also animated “CTA” buttons which are part of the visual identity to add something extra and to highlight what can consumers find in the app. The Last scene is call to action in form of a text that says: “Download Liiiv” and cow swinging on the wrecking ball (Liiiv logo in this case - this was actually my colleague’s idea so I used this assets of his and animated it). Great thing about this was that the cow was from the United Islands (name of the festival) visual identity. They use this cow in their materials so it nicely fit in the whole composition - showing the Liiiv app/brand but also saying that we are at United Islands festival. (festival that people can find in the app and much more!)

Design, animations to be more specific, doesn’t always have to be too dynamic. When you don’t have much time for all the important information that you want to tell the audience, sometimes you have to make it simple and easy for people to understand, yet still make it look nice and exciting. And that’s what I think makes a good design, afterall we, designers, are solving problems, not creating them.
